Mike Bowlin - West Coast Kicking Academy Hall Of Fame
Washington State University
Saddleback Junior College
Aliso Niguel High School
Mike came to us as an athletically gifted 8th grader and quickly developed solid technique that allowed him to utilize his strength. Although he did not attempt many FGs in High School, he was a very high recruited specialist, committing to the University of Oregon before his senior season. Mike eventually transferred to Saddleback College where he excelled as a Long Fg/Kickoff Specialist and then earned a scholarship to Washington State where he assumed Punting and Kickoff duties where he flourished for 2 seasons.
To this day Bowlin is one of the top 3 legs we have ever coached.... a guy who could connect on Fgs over 60, put the ball through the uprights on kickoffs and hit punts over 55 yards with collegiate level hang time.

Bowlin Advice
No matter how good you are, there is always room for improvement. When you are out on the field kicking with other guys, you can't try to "out-kick" the best person. The only way you will continue to grow as a kicker is if you just compete with yourself every single day, and not worry about how other guys are doing. Life will throw you a few curve balls along the way, I can promise you that. How you decide to respond those obstacles is solely dependent upon you. Keep up the hard work!!

Memorable Moments
It was a close game between WSU and Cal, and I had to punt after a safety and hit a 70 yard bomb over the returners head. It was awesome.
